  • What do you recommend regarding coaching frequency?
Initially, I recommend clients attend coaching sessions three weeks in a row, followed by an integration week, meaning we take a week off from working together so the client can integrate what they have taken away from the sessions, and implement changes that will move them forward in the direction they want to travel for work, healthy habits, education, vocation, and relationships. NOTE: Over time, clients become very efficient with self-coaching, reducing the need to see their coach as often. I encourage independence: as clients become more self-aware, and acquire skills to navigate difficult situations and relationships, they become more confident over time in their abilities to not only cope, but thrive.
  • Do you offer in-person coaching?
Yes, I most certainly do, and I prefer it when at all possible. I like eye contact, and I do believe trust increases when two people interact face to face. The next best option to in person is over the phone, and I do offer this for long distance clients, or those that live outside of Canada. Do you need to know my back story, or what I have worked through with my therapist/counsellor? No, we will start where you are … this said, we will touch on your past if and when the topic calls for us to do so, so that you can retrieve important information that will help you understand yourself, and others too, better. This can bring all sorts of emotions, and that is perfectly healthy and normal. Crying is a wonderful cathartic release … I always have Kleenex available.
  • Why hire a Christian coach?
There are a lot of new age coaches that use what I call airy fairy lingo. I don’t … I speak plain English, I am direct and speak truth in love, and can always be counted on to have my clients best interest at heart. The Bible is my life manual, and I tap into tried and true principles when clients are unsure about what they need to do next, or say next, when they are struggling in some areas in their life. Plus: I pray, always asking God to take care of my client's needs and lead them in The Way.
  • What’s important about fitness?
Studies have shown that fitness is the determining factor in longevity. In other words, being active will help you live longer, and better too! People that walk, bike, swim, play sports, lift weights, act and look younger then their chronological age. Isn’t this good news? How often should I work out? Daily activity is valuable. So many fitness professionals recommend 3-4 days a week but that is not enough. Walk daily, play physical games, find ways to keep moving, and you will discover you feel fantastic and energetic too. I am not a nutritionist AND, I highly recommend the use of YUKA, an app for your phone. There is a free version, and it is very useful for making healthy choices. I can recommend this: drink 8-10 glasses of water a day, and download an app for this too. It is fun to track your successes and water helps with all of your body functions.
